What does Jesus look like?

None of us know...however we have all seen various pictures of Him by various artists. I saw some by an artist once that made me freeze they were so beautiful. They were beautiful because they showed my Savior as the loving God that I know He is...not just a cold looking glowing guy with a halo from the middle ages. I can't paint...I'd love to be able to...so instead I wrote a song about what my portrait of Jesus would look like if I could paint. I blogged about it earlier...but finally felt the courage to share it.

Decisions

So, I have decided to first concentrate on a four-track EP. After I get that out, I will concentrate on an LP (full length album). I think I will only do the EP electronically. I wish I could start tomorrow....it is so hard to just sit and wait. I keep praying, though.....it will be real! :-)

Write It Out Project

Hello Everyone!

I would like to share a link to a project that is being run by a dear friend of mine. I am not very crafty, but I certainly know about writing out my feelings. My songs are often my way of writing out what is inside of me. Please visit this link: http://imakestuff4fun.blogspot.com/2010/01/my-crafty-friends-please-help-me.html and help in any way that you can! Please check the main page for http://imakestuf4fun.blogspot.com for a link to donate to the project.

Blessings to you all!

Your Old Gibson

Finished a new song this week. I'm working on the midi track for it so I can give it to the band to learn. I am itching to get some good recordings done! This one is called, "Your Old Gibson." I wrote it about my maternal grandfather. He gave me my first music lessons when I was only a toddler. Now I just have to work on singing it through without crying so we can add it to our live set! :-)

The Notebook

OH WOW! I just finished watching "The Notebook" on TV. Even though I've seen it several times, it just squeezes my heart every single time. I love that Ally wrote down the story of her love for Noah. I have written a few songs for my husband, but I don't know if any of them show how much he 'squeezes' my heart too. I sometimes feel like I can't breathe, I love him so much. I've got to write some more. I used to write all the time...I need to just write more. Melodies can always come later. I'll let y'all know what I come up with. Oh, my heart is just so full right now! I'm going to go hug my love!

Why I Write Songs

I have wanted to be a singer since I was three years old. Later in life, now that I am a mother, I have decided that this is my legacy. Maybe the general public will never think that my songs are any good, but they are my legacy to my children. Long after I am gone, they will have my stories, my heart, my prayers in song. No one can take the melodies out of their head and no one can take the lyrics out of their hearts. I also want my stories to show the amazing affect of God in my life. For every prayer request in a song, I want to share the answer. God doesn't always say, 'yes,' but he always says something!
